Body Transformation Supplement Stack
One of the biggest things I’ve done this year was getting ready for WBFF London fitness model competition. I dedicated about 3 months making some muscle gains and improving my weak points, and then 12 weeks to gradually get leaner and achieve a good contest condition.
I wanted to make sure that I showcase a new and improved version of myself. Body transformation is no rocket science once you know what you’re doing and stay consistent with it. Intelligent training programme, quality nutrition and adequate recovery – those are the basics. And then there is another aspect that can certainly give you an edge. I’m talking about supplements.
I am very lucky to be sponsored by the best-selling supplement company Optimum Nutrition. With their help I managed to achieve some great improvements in my physique. The two photos are taken less than 12 weeks apart. I could have managed it even quicker, but I chose a gradual approach in order to preserve the muscle gains that I acquired.
Here are the supplements I used in various amounts during both muscle gain and fat loss phase of my programme:
This is Optimum Nutrition’s most advanced whey protein. This whey is as pure as it gets. It contains a single-source protein composed entirely of hydrolysed whey protein isolates. Isolates are the purest form of whey protein with no excess fat, cholesterol, or lactose. Hydrolysing the isolates breaks the larger proteins down into smaller pieces, hence, absorption is very quick, kickstarting your recovery post-workout.
Fish Oils contain long-chain fatty acids, with equally long names like docosahexenoic acid (DHA) and eicosapentaenoic acid (EPA). DHA and EPA are essential fats that cannot be made by your body. So, consuming them through foods like salmon and supplements such as the ON Fish Oil Softgels is the only way to get DHA and EPA. Better yet, these Fish Oil Softgels are enteric coated, which means that you get all of the benefits of fish oils without the fishy aftertaste that you might encounter without this special coating.
3. Opti-Men
Opti-Men is much more than just a multi-vitamin. The 70 active ingredients that go into this unique formula will help to optimise your physical and mental performance. When you’re training hard, your body has greater nutritional needs. It’s not always possible to source these solely from your diet every single day. Vitamins and minerals provide a vital nutritional boost to help you cope with the demands of a fast-paced lifestyle. Opti-Women is also available, and it is developed exclusively for active women with 40 female-focused ingredients.
Having the right nutrient delivery before exercise is essential to make sure your body is primed and ready to perform. Platinum Pre- is a much-anticipated new launch from Optimum Nutrition that delivers scientifically proven ingredients before exercise that improve physical performance, delay the onset of fatigue and improve concentration.
5. Creatine
Creatine boosts lean muscle gains even in highly trained athletes. It helps bolster levels of creatine phosphate, which in turn boosts adenosine triphosphate (ATP), the ultimate energy source for muscles.
6. Glutamine
Glutamine is the most abundant amino acid in the body, comprising more than 60% of the free amino acid pool in skeletal muscle and greater than 20% of total circulating amino acids. Supplemental L-Glutamine may help reduce muscle soreness and rebuild muscle tissue, plus a multitude of other benefits that you can read about here in my blog post.
7. BCAA
The Branched Chain Amino Acids (BCAAs), so named because of their branched chemical structure, are essential in that the body cannot make them from other compounds. It can help you blunt the catabolic hormone cortisol, and enhance recovery and protein synthesis.
The specifically formulated synergistic blend of herbs and host of metabolic cofactors make Complete Diet Boost one of the most advanced weight-loss formulas ever created.
9. Thermo Cuts
Optimum Nutrition’s proprietary Thermo Cuts Blend is formulated with a variety of synergistic ingredients to fuel your pursuit of fitness goals. It gives a great caffeine kick to boost you up before cardio sessions.
There you have it – a complete supplement stack to transform your physique. It probably seems like a helluva list to you, and of course they are not all absolutely essential. Moreover, there is no substitute for hard work, and in order to get results you will have to fix your nutrition first. I compiled this list in order of importance, and if you are new to supplements, I suggest that you start with the first three, as those are certain to make the biggest difference.
